Opening a Swiss Bank Account in German: Documents, Fees and Locked Logins
The German for opening an account and asking for the cheapest option — plus what to say when your e-banking login is blocked and you need it back today.
You cannot really live in Switzerland without a Swiss account. Your salary needs somewhere to land, your rent goes out by standing order, and half of Swiss admin assumes you have an IBAN starting with CH.
The good news for your German: opening an account is a highly scripted conversation. The bank asks four or five predictable questions, and if you know how to answer them — and one question of your own — you're through it.
